Position: Senior IT Business Analyst

We’re looking for a Senior IT Business Analyst to join a large-scale banking environment and support the delivery of payment and financial services solutions. This role sits at the intersection of business and technology, requiring close collaboration with stakeholders, architects, developers, testers, and legal teams.
You will be responsible for translating complex business needs into clear technical requirements, ensuring end-to-end traceability throughout the delivery lifecycle, and helping shape sustainable, scalable solutions within a highly regulated financial environment.
Location: Poland (Gdańsk, Gdynia, Warsaw or Łódź) – hybrid work model with onsite presence required 3 days per week in one of the office locations.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand strategic objectives and business needs
- Analyze, document, and validate functional and non-functional requirements
- Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications for delivery teams
- Ensure end-to-end traceability of requirements throughout the software development lifecycle
- Create and maintain high-quality business and technical documentation
- Prepare use cases, process flows, and solution descriptions
- Work closely with architects, developers, testers, and legal stakeholders
- Support solution design and requirements clarification during implementation
- Review and validate delivered functionalities and test results
- Participate in process improvement and quality assurance initiatives
- Provide recommendations regarding solution effectiveness and business value
- Support delivery of banking and payment-related products and services
- Facilitate communication between business and technical teams across the organization
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an IT Business Analyst or Business Analyst in complex environments
- Strong experience within banking and payments domains
- Excellent requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation skills
- Experience working with both functional and non-functional requirements
- Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence
- Experience with API analysis, data mapping, and process modelling
- Practical SQL knowledge
- Experience with UI prototyping and solution design activities
- Ability to create and understand architecture documentation and sequence diagrams
- Strong technical understanding enabling effective collaboration with development teams
- Knowledge of business analysis methodologies, standards, and best practices
- Experience working within Agile software development environments
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Professional proficiency in English and Polish
Nice to have:
- Experience working with banking regulations and compliance requirements
- Practical experience with REST and SOAP APIs
- Knowledge of PSD2, PSD3, and PSR regulations
- Experience gathering and defining non-functional requirements (NFRs)
- Experience in large-scale enterprise or financial services environments
- Understanding of modern banking architectures and payment ecosystems
