Position: Development Lead (Full Stack / CMS – Drupal & Next.js)

We’re now looking for a hands-on Development Lead to join a high-energy international team responsible for a large-scale website and eCommerce ecosystem. This role combines technical leadership with active development, with a strong focus on Drupal-based CMS platforms and modern frontend technologies such as Next.js and React.
You will spend approximately half of your time coding and the other half guiding the team, ensuring high-quality, scalable, secure, and well-structured digital solutions across a large multisite environment.

Responsibilities:
- Actively contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle
- Design, develop, and maintain CMS modules, plugins, and integrations (Drupal / WordPress)
- Lead technical direction and support developers in day-to-day delivery
- Define and enforce engineering best practices (TDD, CI/CD, SCRUM, refactoring, coding standards)
- Develop and maintain scalable multisite templates and reusable UI components
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to deliver intuitive and high-performing web solutions
- Ensure content is easily manageable by non-technical users
- Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and maintainability
- Participate in architectural discussions and technical decision-making
- Support migration from legacy CMS platforms to a unified Drupal-based architecture
- Work closely with cross-functional and international stakeholders
- Stay up to date with emerging web technologies and CMS trends
- Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (WCAG)
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a CMS developer / technical lead (5+ years)
- Strong expertise in Drupal (custom modules, multisite, multilingual setups)
- Experience with REST, JSON:API, GraphQL and headless/decoupled architectures
- Good understanding of WordPress (custom plugins, REST, GraphQL)
- Strong frontend skills: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery
- Experience with modern frameworks: React.js, Next.js
- Understanding of full web development lifecycle (design, development, deployment)
- Experience with asynchronous communication (AJAX, partial page updates)
- Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility challenges and solutions
- Experience with data migration, transformation, and scripting
- Understanding of scalable application design principles
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Experience with digital accessibility (WCAG)
- Fluent English and Polish (mandatory)
Nice to have:
- Experience in high-traffic or enterprise-scale CMS platforms
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS / Azure / GCP)
- Experience in eCommerce or website factory architectures
- Experience in mentoring or leading distributed development teams
- Strong architectural background in headless CMS ecosystems
